Analysis of the influence of temperature on the accuracy of steel wire bender

1. Materials expand when heated and contract when cooled.
Steel wire itself: when the temperature rises, the steel wire expands, resulting in the actual size after bending being larger than the set value; When the temperature decreases, it contracts, and the size may be small.
Machine structure: the metal frame (such as cast iron or steel parts) is slightly deformed due to temperature changes, which affects the alignment accuracy of the mold and tool.
Example: A temperature difference of 10°C may cause a change of about 0.1mm per meter of steel wire length (the linear expansion coefficient of steel is about 12× 10/C).
2. Influence of key components
Transmission system:
Ball screw/guide rail: Temperature change may lead to the change of preload, increase the reverse clearance or friction, and reduce the repeated positioning accuracy.
Servo motor: High temperature may affect the stability of encoder signal and lead to control error.
Hydraulic system (if applicable): the increase of oil temperature will reduce the viscosity of oil, lead to pressure fluctuation and affect the consistency of bending force.
3. Ambient temperature and compensation measures
Ideal environment: keep the workshop temperature constant (such as 20±2°C), especially for high-precision machining.
Temperature compensation:
High-end bending machine may be equipped with real-time compensation system, and the control parameters are adjusted by temperature sensor.
Regularly calibrate the mold position, especially in the season with large temperature difference.
4. Suggestions for operation
Preheating: Run idle for 10-15 minutes after startup to make the machine reach a stable temperature.
Material management: store the steel wire in a constant temperature environment to avoid size fluctuation caused by temperature difference before processing.
Monitoring: check the temperature of key components with infrared thermometer during processing.
summary
The influence of temperature on the accuracy is usually within ±0.1mm (which may be neglected under ordinary accuracy requirements), but it is necessary to strictly control micron-scale high-precision bending or long-size workpieces. If seasonal accuracy deviation is found, it is suggested to check the influence of environmental temperature change first.
